AMP Burgdorf?

I have a small yellow sticker on my front windshield passenger side that says "AMP Burgdorf". Curious as to what that meant a google search indicates that AMP Burgdorf is a retired military vehicle museam of some sort in Switzerland. Some of the vehicles pictured there have the same sticker, thought that was kind of neat.

Anyone else have this?

AMP stands for "Armee Motorfahrzeug Park", or Army Motor vehicle Park". Your Pinzgauer was stationned at the one in Burgdorf, canton Bern. If you check Burgdorf on Google Maps, you can see the exact location at the end of the well-named "Militärstrasse", south of the town center. Quite a few OD-colored vehicles stored there when the picture was taken.
With the Swiss army being organised like the National Guard (with a core of professional instructors and the bulk of the troops having 2 or 3 weeks of training every year), the vehicles are allocated to the units only for the duration of their training time, then returned to the AMP. This allows the people in charge of inventory to ensure all vehicles are being used regularly.
I have seen the link you mention, and it seems the army was keeping some vintage armor there. Not sure they are accessible to the public though... The main army museum is in Thun (still canton Bern), and there is another one in Morges that I know of, probably several others in Switzerland.

GenevaPinz,
Thank you so much for your response! Personally I find it very interesting to find out where "old stuff" has been, especially when its from across the pond

I googled further, trying to find the list of active AMPs (a lot have been closed while the post-cold war army was downscaled), didn't get a list but found out that Burgdorf is where vehicles sold by the military are put on display before the sale. This replaces the public auction system that was in place when Pinzgauers were being decommissioned.

Nope, no desire to copy it. I don't think I need such a sticker to enhance the "authenticity" of my truck. I'm fine with it as it is. I know it's a real truck.
Merely curious because of
your description:
the sticker looks great
Beauty is obviously in the eye of the beholder.

I guess this is a good time to remind people, many of the Pinzgauers that have been imported still have tempered windshields. For the sake of safety these tempered windshields should be replaced with modern safety glass windshields.
