Custom rub rails

When Picked up my 710 it was missing the driver side wood rub rail, soooo today I made some.
I just so happened to have two 13 or 14 ft sticks of 2'' .095 Dom. A couple of 50 deg. bends 12.5" apart and presto.
For the mounting, I used 2" x .125 cold roll strap and cut the pieces down to 2.5" and 1.25"x.65 tube, notched and cut down to 1/4" spacing between body and rail. The tabs were also welded over every other original holes.

The front tubes aren't done yet, custom bumper coming soon that will tie in.

Those look awesome! I imagine you could sell a few of those, of you were so inclined...

Great how-to
Perhaps it should be moved to the Tech Sessions
Not sure I would weld them on but those are very nice looking welds so what the heck!
How did you weld - MIG with gas I assume since they are so clean?
Cheers

I thought that as well, but you have to read the part about the custom bumper coming soon.
If it is as well done as the rail it will be a show piece.

No whistle but came in handy today ..bounced off some rocks! Thanks guys! Need to find the right winch so i can build a bumper around it, then tie in to rails (bolt on of course)
