Show me your backup light placement!

I've got my reverse light switch, and now I'm trying to figure out
where, exactly, to place the backup lights (I plan on using a small
flood light) and which light to buy. I see a 5" x 5" area just below
the rear license plate, which would be ideal for a single 4" x 4" LED
flood. Or I could use the two small areas just inside the stock rear
lights and mount a small 2 x 2 light in each. I'm curious how other
people mounted theirs.

Show me how you placed yours!

Do yourself a favor, scrap the crappy Pinz tail lamps(cops hate yellow brake lamps anyways) and use Jeep universal, utility type (any auto parts store)with back up lamp incorporated or LED type(a bit more$$). Less hanging parts to break, way better visibility, and fully functional integrated reverse lamp. They run about $18 ea. use(2) 24v #1662 combi bulbs (NAPA)and re use stock brake/turn bulbs for reverse lamp(21watt).
Full instructions for tapping into the Black out circuit( Pink wire)are already posted. Note:The extra orange wire in the harness ( if equipped) is for a separated brake lamp circuit(Austrian variant).
Also remember you are limited to power usage of under 8amps(circuit breaker limit) :!:
The above is very cost effective and easy to do with least amount of mods.
The best place for separate lamps is as high as you can get them

Mine are cheap generic ones mounted next to original refectors http://www.pinzgauer.4x4man.com/Modifications.html

I have had my rear lights changed so red is brake as per EU Standard.

If I had more money I would have gone for a more powerful LED light

I no longer have my last truck with a backup light. I used one of exped imports 24v work lights mounted through a hole under the rear door handle. Worked wonderfully!

Thanks ScottishPinz. I just finished the backup light yesterday. I see you have the original outlet on yours.
I've got plans for that little area, so I did something slightly unconventional. Once I mount the larger tires,
I really have no real estate on the left side for a light, so I opted to move it to the right side. It's really, really
bright, so I have plenty of light on both sides when I back up. Funny thing, I'm still getting accustomed to
working on 42 year old wiring. I grounded the light to a bolt behind the tail light where another ground wire
was running. Just touching that old ground wire screwed up the connection it made. When I put everything
together, I went back at night to see how it looked and my right blinker didn't work and the blackout lights
were blinking!!! I freaked a bit because I really didn't touch anything. It turns out that just shifting that ground
un-grounded it. Once I replaced it and got it grounded, everything was fine.

Right side above LED tail light. Operated from switch installed at front cab console.
