Don't think they need a pinz, but maybe kidney belts. Haven't seen three or four guys flip over a pinz by hand...OK there was one vehicle involved on the side, but still.

Actually, modern drivers need to know how to drive a one driving wheel vehicle before given something like a Pinz. The more a driver knows how to use less, makes thing all the easier when he has all the features and less likely to do something stupid.
What became the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) in WW2 used 2 wheel drive Chevy 1-1/2T trucks for raids across the Sahara. The founder of the group opted against 4WDs
