Hello Everyone,
In about a week I will be the proud owner of a bouncing baby 710K. I really like the look of the Original side antennas, which my Pinz is missing. It has everything else but the whips. Any divine wisdom you could bestow on a new owner would be much appreciated. I will post up some pics for you guys as soon as I get it home. Thanks in advance!

The mounts are different depending upon what frequency/band your interested in.
There is a mount with and tuner built in the base that electronically selects the
LC values based on the operating freq., I'd have to look that up but I think it's in
the ballpark of 40 to 88Mhz. The corresponding antenna is a vertical dipole which
looks like a whip. The later generations of this antenna has a simpler mount as the
antenna has built in a progressive winding for broadband. In both cases these are
coaxial mounts. If your looking for a plain whip antenna you need a mount that
has a "one hot" base and not coaxial, then you can look into the AT-1011 hf ant.
which comes in 4' sections up to 32' -- a bridge belly scrapper. That's what I run
for hf operation from 80M to 6M operation.

So if your just look'n for looks, won't matter, but these mounts nad antenna ain't
cheap so what's your game plan? CB can be made to work with the vert. dipoles
with some minor tuning, HAM is a bit more complicated.

Here's more info as FYI.

The standard SINCGARS HUMVEE antenna for 30 to 88 MhZ. These are again, essentially a vert. dipole
(center feed) with wire-wound loading at both ends. They are pretty effective at this freq. range esp.
when your running a rig with essentially no ground plane. The Pinz'y mounts take these NATO mounts
perfectly, they are 4.5" BHC, bolts are 5/16", on the Pinz use M8 works fine.

You can also get the AT-1011 mounts at Murphy's, these are for Shakespeare AT-1011 vertical whips,
a straight whip antenna. A wee bit of a pain to use as you will need an Antenna tuner and add/delete
sections as required. It's really applicable to the HF HAM bands if your interested. I'd look into the
AS-3900A for CB and 10/6M, although there's going to be some trade-off in CB at 27MhZ vs 30MhZ at
the low end of these antennas.
