Two different carbs

I seem to have two different carbs. I believe one is what they call "small idle mixture" and one is "large idle mixture". Is it ok to mix?

Never knew that - I unfortunately have nothing to offer but have subscribed to your thread as I am interested!

It looks like the difference is that on one the idle mixture screw can be sealed so it will not be tampered with. My guess is that it was for pollution control. So far cannot detect any other difference. Jets are the same.

If I remember correctly the only differences are the throttle body and the type of adjustment screw, large or small. I think the throttle body will only work with one kind of screw so they have to be matched.

I looked in the junk pile that came with the truck and found the "big screw" throttle piece. I am going to try to make them match.

You should be aware that the throttle base (part 73 here: http://www.pinzgauer.com/parts.php?cat= ... view=01-40 is sometimes replaced due to wear at the throttle shaft, leading to air leakage, leading to lean condition and an inability to sync the carbs at the proper rpm.

Unless your extra is just NOS, you should check it for tolerances.
