Full service time
Full service time
Hi all, I've been scouring the internetwork looking for parts for an upcoming service but I'm struggling to find definitive information. I have a petrol 6x6 and need to change out all my filters plus oil. Can someone point me in the direction of what filters/oil I should be getting and where to buy. I've tried my local garage and with all things Pinz, most mechanics don't have a clue. FYI: I'm in the UK.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Full service time
Hi SNP,
Are you in Scotland by any chance (judging from your username... )?
For engine oil, the manual states 6.5 liter of 10W30.
For our vintage of petrol engines, I would go for some specialist zinc-rich classic car oil. Millers OIls (UK-made) have their "Pistoneeze" range which is quite good in this regard. You can buy straight from the manufacturer (https://www.millersoils-shop.co.uk/mill ... engine-oil). I hope this helps.

Re: Full service time
Nah, I'm in the smog! SNP is an acronym for an old business I had. TT have had this name for a minute and I haven't been bothered to change it. I reached out to Haflinger technik and they suggested I use 7 litres of: 15W-50 Mineral oil. I'm not sure if there's much of a difference though.GenevaPinz wrote:Hi SNP,

This one is considerably cheaper than what I've been looking at. Is this like a general all rounder?Joeri wrote:They use HD30 motor oil....

Re: Full service time
Well dont use anny synthetic or even half - synthetic motor oil but a good HD-30 is all it takes.
As for the hi-lo case and portals....i always used 85w140....i stead of the 85w90 becouse theres where the weak point is ....especialy when you drive a lot on big roads or high speed...the 85 w 90 gets to hot ( thin! ) and your bearings will not last.....fot sure the ones in the hi/ lo case....so thats why i always used the 85w140 , its thicker but will protect longer when gettlng hot.

Re: Full service time
When shopping for spares I prefer local suppliers I can talk to, face to face, but that should not deviate to a political discussion...
Just make sure you get no cheap copy; ten quid for all three raises an alarm, I would estimate ten for each....
