Looking for pop-out air vents

Post by mm58 »

Hello all,

I'm interested in a pair of those pop-out fresh air vents that I've seen installed on some Pinz's.
They are mounted on the surface just behind where the turn blinker lamps are.

Were these factory?... aftermarket? Anyway, if anyone happens to have a set they'd be interested
in selling, or, can direct me to a source, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks much
Mike

Thanks David! In the meantime, I did find a factory drawing (from SAV) that does show these vents (Item 71)
Seems like they were very seldom installed.

If anyone reading this thread has these vents on their Pinz, could I ask you to post a pic or two of them?

Well, I grabbed the vent page from the 716/18 parts manual with the TD pn

And in my collection of pics, the vent on GG
These vents were used quite a bit on the old Series Land Rovers.
What makes them unique is that don't protrude beyond the face of the flange in the closed position

Yes that's it! Thanks for the pics.
I really prefer the way the OEM versions mount flush.
Now only to source a pair...

I believe these are pretty rare to come across... Seem like they were options for pinz's that saw use in desert/hot climates

You dont find them annywhere....and if you would them they will cost you a fortune. Gregor Mc kenzie from www.Shropshiregunbus.co.uk ( SGB) wanted to have them reproduced . You could send him a mail as i know he bought some 718's from the Malaysian army , they had these vents. All the pinzgauers used in the midle east ( Imirates/ Oman ) had these.

I think the one's marketed for trailer/roof vents would be too large
for the Pinz application
