LED Lighting question/side marker lights

Post by tokarev »

Has anyone ever tried using the newer US Military LED tail light assemblies? Also the US Military side marker upgrade kit? I just purchased a M712 and bright lights are a must with the nuts/old folks driving around here in FL. Former M151A2 owner.

I have been wondering about this also. You can find these on the net at a reasonable price. I do not see why it could not be done. They would look corrct. I dont know how much light is produced by these lights. The reason I want to change is to increase visibility. I will probably go with a LED when I do change.

I have installed the military version of the truklite or is that trucklite side marker led systems (lights). All 3 customers have LOVED them. And Yes they came from NAPA and they have the military style front and rear led systems (the HUMVE rear and a similar for the fron in yellow and the front black out led)

They look great...unfortunately they are a bit pricey.

The truck lite stuff is available from NAPA. Call them with the part number, they can give you a price.

I priced the model 30 side markers from a commercial store and they were $24 per part.

I finished my side marker lights. Here are some pictures.

They are Truck-lite 35 series. I made the angle mounting bracket and had the standard light guards from truck-lite black anodized so they would not stand out.

Scooter...Wow those are bright! You may want to check out the regulations for side marker lights. I beleive that the rear one has to be red, some DOT rule. Of course I could be wrong its been a while.

miles,

thanks.

I have been working on the red side rear too. I am tryign to fit it in the slot that is already in the bumper mounting. Otherwise a small 2" one will have to be drilled in.
