Re: Bikmakr's/mule expedition winch mount

I know this is a pretty old thread, but who is making this design winch mount nowadays? I like how it incorporates the tow point, adding strength to the mount.

710K rear seat belt question.

I have installed my seat belts as best I can figure out. But what in the world are the straps with the large gate clips for?

Re: The project 710K Begins.

Mounted a drink/cup holder on the dog house. And got the front and rear seatbelts sorted out (I think) and installed. But what are these short straps with the large gate clips?

Re: The project 710K Begins.

That looks terrific. I will get a hold of Fat Fabrications tomorrow. I understand the shop is still working.

To clarify, Andre Swanson fab'd the winch mount and K door steps and Billy Beddow @ 3saurus co-designed/fab'd the tire+fuel carrier.

Thank you for the clarification. I have a can ...

Re: The project 710K Begins.

After looking at pictures on the forum, I like the idea of a second gas can mount on the left side under the 710K door. The only issue I see is the exhaust pipe in that location. It looks like there is just enough room to squeeze it in. I will see as the project develops. If I want more spare ...

Re: The project 710K Begins.

Starting to think about a winch mount. I have seen several that allow retention of the stock bumperettes. Most of the traffic on the site is pretty dated. Unfortunately, I'm late to the party, but who is still making something like this one? (not my photo)

Re: The project 710K Begins.

I was able to modify the Pinzgauer Axe mount a little and add a clamp. It now holds my old trusty Estwing hatchet nice and secure in the passenger foot well.

Re: The project 710K Begins.

Hmmm, it may be unlikely but ... [ Jerry Can leak + Exhaust = Boom ] ://
More a possibility if you are in a rocky craggy area I suppose. I do have a
couple of Jerry's that have darn good dents in them from just that, they
now don't leave the garage.

I don't know if you found the link below, it ...

Re: The project 710K Begins.

I hung my Jerry can holder on the Right side of the read door.

If you put one there, add a steel backing plate on the inside to
prevent weight and vibration from fracturing the thin upper
deck sheet metal.

Re: The project 710K Begins.

Looks like my 2 stage defender jack will do for now, with the help of some 2X6's.
Its a little short for the stock mount straps, but it will do until I decide to spend the cash for a better Jack.

Great idea on the backing plate/doubler. I will have to think about which side to put ...

Re: The project 710K Begins.

This dang warning light caused me to carry 2 full Jerry cans :P

Because when that goes off, I consumed 15 gallons, so I either
press on and hope or turn around and have exactly enough to
get out :)

That actually sounds about right, given it's a 20-gal tank. I had it stuck in my head that it ...

Re: The project 710K Begins.

After transferring fuel back and forth this morning with my electric pump can say that the low fuel light comes on at +/-5 gallons of usable fuel left in the tank. So I adjusted my gauge as close to zero as I could get at 5 gal using the low fuel light.

Re: The project 710K Begins.

You could also repurpose one of the existing dash lights.
Bulbs 1, 8, or 9 are possible candidates depending upon
your current options.

Scrounged around in the bottom of my A&P tool box and found an old 24V warning light. It seems well-suited to the low-fuel light; it came off an F4D fighter ...
