breakers gone bad?

Post by michaelh712 »

Can breakers just go bad? My #1 breaker won't reset, and this happened with it just sitting and with no electrical work on my part?

Is there any way to test them short of just replacing (ouch) them?

They can.. also shorts can develop... check the compenents wired to #1 - I had a similar problem in a corroded tail light [breaker was fine].

Power down the vehicle (turn batt switch off, or disconnect the batts) then reset. If it won't reset, it is probably a bad breaker. if it resets and then pops when you power up, check for wiring problem.

Good luck
