ALLMOST GOT DEVORICED/NEW PINZ OWNER

Post by ABSOLUTSECURITY »

Hello,

I bought my first Pinz 712M Ambulance - WIFE NOT HAPPY!! LOL!

In SoCal / LA County / Pasadena

Trying to see if any local Pinz owners around here. Gonna start mod on unit to include cab and box a/c - 12/24 volt power and 120 volt a/c - air compressor - removal of gasoline space heaters and a ton of other stuff.

Looking for some sage wisdom and info.

Break in your new ownership with a trip to Calico for Mogfest next weekend. Congrats on your wise  move to Pinz ownership.

Hello

Introduce yourself to Jim LaGuardia. He is the main So.Cal. guru and he puts out the word for loacl day-trips frequently. Keep him aware of your skill/comfort level and he will try to accomodate you. He can even fix whatever you break.

Advice: Say goodbye to the wife... Now that you've got the "Pinz Virus", you'll probably never see her again.

If you are dead-set on keeping her, get that ambulance box all puffed-up and comfortable and bring her along. Couple outings and she'll have the Pinz virus too!

Oddly enough, when I brought my 710K home my wife fell in love with it instantly. She now calls it my 4-wheeled Prozac! From experience I find that lots of women think that the Pinz is really "Cute"... Play up that angle if you can...

As far as technical advice. I concur with the last post that Jim is probably "the man" in your area. He's one of the "senior advice givers" round here as far as I can tell. Other than that, this is a really friendly board with lots of people willing to pitch in.
Best Regards,
Charles

new pinz owner

Congrats on the new addition.
I got a pinz and sold the mog, main reason: gas and comfort.
I miss the mog but the pinz is great and my lady thinks it is cute and comfortable.
I went to the 'pinz clinic' that Dave Dunn held earlier in the year and met Jim. He balanced my carbs and gave me lots of good advice on the pinz.
Definately try to get to Calico for the Mogfest. Lots of pinz owners go and it is a great place to meet and wheel with like minded people....and, the food is great. Get your reservation in to Kai Serrano for the food and call the ranger at Calico and tie down a space.

Cheers,
Morris

My "EX-WIFE" :o is way pregnant and our expected delivery date is Nov 12!
I am so lucky to have such a good girl  - she said I could take my 5 year old son along to Mogfest Calico - but I dont think I can do that and still fall in line as a good husband with our baby being due so soon - with my luck the baby would pop out as soon as I got to Calico. Gonna have to pass on Mogfest this time but I will be there for sure next time around and by then I should been done or stuck full force in my Pinz MODS to the Ambi!

Thanks for all the replies and I feel like I have an extended family - you all have made me feel better going thru this trying time with my wife getting the bags packed and getting ready to go to Moms sayiong I am crazy! 8) :P My wife feels better now that she has been by my side reading some of these replies also!!

Just show up for a day, either Friday or Saturday and join in for a ride. The only fees are for food and the campsite ( though they may charge of the admission to the Ghost Town)

Glynn- Glad to hear that you got the pinz home! You will love it (she will too even if she never admits it). My wife always has a big grin on her face when we go out for a ride but swears that she does not like it. If you make it Mogfest take lots of pictures and share them with us. Have fun with your new toy and good luck with the new baby. Are you planning to get rid of your other amb soon?

Hey Wayne - hows everything in FL?
Gonna miss the fest this time, but I will be at the next gathering for sure!
The old Ambi is going up on the block after I get all my tools and equip out of it - gotta get rid of at least one vehicle - 4 in one family is way to many!

Hi Glynn,

Let me know if you want to sell the ambi heater, I could use a spare for parts. When I got my 712W, the wife had to drive it one day; she took it to the store and when I got home she proclaimed it a "guy magnet" -- she isn't allowed to drive it anymore... but now she has her own 710M.

Think I am going to make it to MOGFEST - Hatched a plan!

Post by ABSOLUTSECURITY »

With a little help from a new friend!
I think I can talk my wife into going out with my boy for the day in one of our Rangies - I want to take BLACKY my 1990 RR (expeditioned out) - but my wife will no doubt want to take WHITEY my 98 HSE with 22's
(dont give me a hard time - thats how I bought it - even though I like it with 22's on it! LOL!)

I think I almost have her sold on the deal - NOW I NEED EVERY ONE TO USE EXTREME MIND POWER _ "KEEP THE BABY INSIDE UNTILL AFTER MOGFEST!! Come on we can do it!
