24v converter

Post by Oberon »

I want to put a converter on my rig, but don't know too much about them. I want to be able to run a cb, ciggarette lighter for charging a cell phone, and a stereo. What should I look for as far as amps, brand, ect.
How many components can you run off of one converter?

Add up your total load and add a fudge factor (I like 25%) to determine how big a converter you need. The amp output of your converter will determine the components it can handle. I'm sure plenty will pipe in on their preferred brand. I use a 20A Samlex ($72.00 thru Tessco) and have no complaints. I just run a radio/cd with it.
