Oil temp sender wire?

Post by milesdzyn »

The oil temp gauge and temp sender came with my pinz, but no connector wire for the sensor. Here is a picture of it, Markings on sender = VDO 402 6-24v 150c

As you can see it has a odd connector at the end. Anyone know where I can get the proper wire with connector. Or if you can not buy just the wire, what gauge wire should I use to make my own?

Thanks, Miles

Try a bare 1/4" female quick connect terminal - I have seen those used on similar sender connections. The connector slips sideways over the "head", while the space between the curled edges allows the narrow "post" to fit. Nice thing about this type of connection is that it doesn't matter what position the sender stops at, you can always still push the connector on from the most convienent side...

Assuming the head FITS a 1/4" connector...

It is a 1/4" connector with an extra wide gap between where the 2 ears fold over. Usually if memory serves me it is in the kit, i'm thinking NAPA has had them if you can find the right counter person.

Good luck, I'll look and see if I have a spare in my box of tricks

Thanks guys, I've got some of those. I was thinking it was a round spring type compression connector, pressed on over from the front, with a rubber boot. Guess I was over thinking it.
