Alternative Clutch/Flyweel alignment tool

Post by milesdzyn »

Anyone know which GM Clutch/Flyweel alignment tool works on the pinz. I think it was a GM 10 spline?

Also any other tools that will replace the Pinz specific "gold plated" tools.
ex: VW flywheel holder works for the Pinz.

All I Know is the splines on the 733i are the same. I use old input shafts for pilot tools, I use a cut off 64 Mercedes 4 sp input shaft 8)

My last Pinz I used the alignment tool that came with the BMW clutch. I put a few wraps of aluminum tape to make up for the larger pilot bearing and woo, woo! All slid together nicely!

Mark....Do you remember the part no of the BMW clutch by chance. I was looking at a HD 4 spring for a BMW M3 but I'm not sure its a direct fit?

I believe I got the info from the SDP site,If memory serves it was for the 7 series BMW. I bought the kit at Auto Zone, and it had a Sachs pressure plate, and came with a lifetime warrantee!! Of course the T-O bearing wouldn't fit ,but as easy as it was to pull trans ,I opted to reuse my old bearing. BTW,the replacement p-plate was substantially stiffer than my old one. Hope this helps.
