Oil Cooler Leaks & Axle boots

Post by SAM. C. »

Hi All

I have searched the forum for info on Oil Cooler leaks and I read PinzEODs thread from March this year. Basically I have the same problem a significant leak on the right side of my engine. I am pretty sure it is coming from the rear of the oil cooler.

I am going to have to order the gaskets but can anyone tell me is there a kit with the oil cooler sealing rings and gaskets in? I am going to get a parts book but they are a bit expensive at the moment.

I have one other question about axle boots. I have two yellow single piece boots and two split boots. I can squeeze the split ones and they breathe a bit when air is forced from them when i squeeze whereas the yellow ones are perfectly sealed. Is this a concern?

Thanks

Here's the parts I got to do this job:

Gasket, Thermostat Housing 7101070211, O-ring thermostat 9003798, and seal ring oil cooler (x2) 7101070251. I also had oil leaking from the fuel pump and replaced those gaskets too (x2) (7121081151).
