Dennis,
You caught me on one 2 many Crown&7's tonight! I personally find little humor in the post. For one, I enjoy someone making money in this great country--must be a reason you immigrated here. I also appreciate someone standing up to assholes from other countries, especially ones who blow up innocent women and children for their cause. It is too bad they let people into our United States that are not united in what this country stands for. I believe in freedom of speech and you are lucky that I do.
Cheers Mate

Sorry I don't wish to ruffle your feathers ol mate, but most who have seen this in my shop today found it hilarious.

You shouldn't take this all too seriously, its depression enough.

For your information I am not an immigrant, but I do employ Americans and have adopted Americans nurtering them to adulthood, have employed and coached ex convicts to persue a more gainful life than pushing drugs etc.
I don't employ non legal Hispanic labour which is more than I can say for the Republican supporters of the current President who do flout the law at corporate level especially within agriculteral business sector. Swift comes to mind in Greeley and may I daresay lots of your counterparts in the American AG sector as well.
I can say I contribute to this country. Do you?
Still poking fun at all those silly politicians wherever they are who take themselves too seriously.

I too am tired of your continuous bias slam of our government.
Religion and politic are a common taboo on most forums, and you make an inordinate amount of posts slamming the US government....
Trust me, everyone on this forum knows your political viewpoint, and as you might think the links as cute, they are no more than unwanted propaganda..... if you feel a need to forward this crap, start a mailing list of those that want to hear it.

BTW , I hope Vince deletes this thread and any other thread/post that's like it.

I think that Political satire is an enjoyable sport in GB and has been for the last couple of centuries since the Georgian days. Nobody seams to find this sort of thing very offensive over here, perhaps we do not take our selves very seriously we are a spent power after all. I do not know if Dennis meant any offence or is just genuinely amused by the political scene over that side of the pond. I am curious to know, would it be likely to offend most Americans or just the Republican ones. Over here, Blair & company are often lampooned and poeple do laugh because we can see that politicians are wrapped in hypocrisy. We tend to loath our political leaders and can easily see through the spin. I suppose that we are cynical because we have no real choice so we are impotent.

I do think that it is fair game to attack the post though it as it seams to invite comment, even though it is wrapped in a suggestion that it may be enjoyed. Perhaps politics is very contentious subject in the US and poeple avoid much comment no matter who is in power for fear of upsetting some one. I do note that politics are used on some US motoring forums and have witnessed very heated slanging matches rather than debates. This is a very small forum with an even smaller pool of regular corespondents so perhaps there is little place for a political sing song. It is I believe the Political season in the US at the present time so maybe some folk are sensitive to the atmosphere, perhaps they have a lot riding on who wins.

Perhaps this sort of unprovoked comment might be better left unsaid. It may be better to post a political comment if it is warranted and pertinent to a relevant story and used as a form of argument instead as a provocative and unattached statement. I am not sure that it should be erased that is not free speech. A better move might be to seek some general rules that are posted for forum users to adhere to when posting that might be a more fair long term arrangement.

Thanks expresses my position entirely, still laughing at that lampoon and those that take themselves too seriously.

I just wonder how "Spitting Images" would go down over here if produced by an American producer---Probably fly like a lead balloon.

Dave, I've taken to ignoring any of Dennis' posts unless there is technical content (no offense Dennis). The fact that he is not jailed for his views is courtesy of our veterans and is a great aspect of our country. It goes hand in hand with my ability/freedom to choose to ignore all his non-technical posts. Cheers.

Jeeez, lighten up,its not like they were lampooning Mother Theresa!! Of course that would be funny if you were an Agnostic! How come things are only funny when "properly" delivered? Example, you could grow up and you and your friends call your sister fat and you laugh....when a non friend says the same, ya wanna kick some a$$. It's these things that keep the Zantac ads on the T.V. Relax everybody,ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL.....
Besides,we only have the media to blame for"reporting" the subject matter that feeds these Lampoonists. .....perhaps we should shut them down and end this madness once and for all!!

The lampoon was not the point contested, but Dennis' continual blaming of Bush and Blair for every problem in the world, as if there weren't any previous world leaders that sat on their hands while terrorists went rabid.

I honestly cannot think of another person that has used this forum for their own personal political forum ( Except for the last hacker of this site)

I probably ought to keep my thoughts to myself, but what the heck. I didn't see anything wrong with it. Certainly not worse that some of Michael Moore's garbage. I have American born friends and acquaintences who think along the lines represented by the little film clip.

I think I've mentioned before that I have over 32 years working for the American government in the military and federal law enforcement, so I'm certainly not un-American. I wouldn't trust much of what the government told me. I'm probably a little to the right (politically) of Rush Limbaugh.

Dennis is a guy who has seen more of the world than most of us. He has been exposed to a hole bunch of different viewpoints (not many of which would go with your basic American way of thinking). We are all shaped by our experiences.

People on this forum seem to be a little smarter than your average American, but it has long been my opinion that for the most part Americans are some of the most politically naive people on the face of the earth.

We've been saddled with political correctness by our own politicaians. you know the same ones that preach diversity. Is that limited just to native born folks? Why can't Dennis voice his thoughts? Did you all throw the same fits when they hoisted a Mexican flag in California? You don't have to agree with his thoughts or opinions or let them bother you. So what if he is from GB? Chingau, at least he speaks the language and ya don't have to press 2 to talk to him.

Just my opinion. If I've step on some toes, I'm sorry. But the man has helped a bunch of people on this forum...for free.

Guys,

My suggestion is that we should stick to the topic(s) at hand and remember that everyone here in the USA is entited to express their own opinions. If you don't agree with them, you get to share your perspective wthout "serious" reprisal but the ability to share in a diversity of opinions is what keeps things lively.

When t comes down to it, there are probably better places on the internet to talk politics.

Sorry guys I had to lock the thread. After years of running yahoo email lists and this forum, I know where this will end up. I was also asked by a few people to do so.
