How many Pinzgauers?

Post by pinztx »

Does any one know about how many pinzgauers are in the US? If so what would the brake down be on models?
Thank you,

(Guess)estimates were at 2500 to 3000 a few years ago, and there is no way to know how many are here because of the number of different people that have imported them and the multitude of manufacturer's names and discriptions used to register them in the various states.

As far as different the models. 710M is the most common by far. 712K would be the fewest, and I wouldn't know if the 710K or 712M/Amb (all 3 door platforms) would be the 2nd most common body style in the US. Though if I had to take a blind guess, more 710K than 712M.

quality?

Mine has kissed a few rocks, a bit of rust at the door top and a very small oil leak from the push rod tubes. It is still quality to me. YMMV

y "72" 710K has a bit of minor rust here & there. Original exterior paint. A few upgrades to this point mechanically. The wonderfully forklift installed "David Dunn" complete window group (as seen in an earlier post).

The most amazing thing...doesn't leak a drop of any fluids
