Sonoran Outback Challenge
Sonoran Outback Challenge
A couple of us participated in the Sonoran Outback Challenge on Saturday. Robert took his 712 and I took my 710. The event was broken into three catagories, open desert racing, obstacle course and mud bog. The first two were timed events and the mud bog was of course a distanced travelled. The event was open to any rig with no subcategories. I managed 2nd place overall with my 710, not bad considering the competition. Will get pics/vids up later today.

Mike, after having my 710 break through crust last year and pretty much sink to the frame I'm wondering how deep your mud events are and if there is "bottom" to them?
My mud here usually has suction not just resistence to momentum.
Looks like fun, but what a clean up job afterwards. Cool videos and pics by the way.

Dave (the guy who puts on these events) has a backhoe come in and dig up the place (mainly river bottom silt) and then he puts lots of water on it. The mud gets really slick even though it is only a few feet deep. Nobody made it all the way and there were some very impressive rigs there. All the holes or pits in the vids/pics are usually filled with water/mud and make for a great time. I end up spending a couple of days taking the drums off to clean them out and hosing off the truck, still lots of fun though.
