Quieting the sound (squeaking) of the engine cover

Jer,

I used the foam rubber rapping they put on A/C lines. It comes in 4 ft. lengths and is slit on one side. I found it in Home Depot in plumbing section I believe. They make two types. One is foam, the other is foam rubber. The foam rubber fits well and has quieted my engine noise considerably.

For those with soft tops, it fits perfectly around the canvas support bars to help eliminate canvas chatter.

Works for me.

Yep

Cut out for the locking handles and the side plates. The difference was amazing. Again, they make 2 types. I used the soft rubber, not the foam.

Oops I think you misunderstood me...sorry my fault - I just meant the oil cover part (the little one on top) - it's squeaks like a wounded rabbit.

Very occasionally my "inspection lid" used to squeak. Don't know if temperature related or not.

Instant cure was a squirt of silicone based furniture polish on the ridge/lip of the engine cover. Spray on - polish off. Put lid back on - no squeaks !

Worth a try.
