Indcators on the Blink

Post by SAM. C. »

Hi All

My indicators have developed an intermittent fault. I hate auto electrics and I am wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and could save me a lot of time.

They work fine most of the time but every now and then the light on the dash stops flashing, I have checked and the indicators at this time stop flashing also (this always seems to happen at the worst possible time). This happens when turning in both directions and they will stop working for a few seconds and they will blink a few times and then miss a few blinks. It feels to me like a bad connection somewhere. Funny thing is it seems to help them work if I dip the brake pedal just enough to trip the brake light sensor :? ?? and then they work better. Seems a bit strange but I am sure it is the case.

Can anyone shed any light on this one??

Cheers

My 710M did exactly the same thing your is doing. I replaced the original flasher with a newer electronic version and have not had a problem since. EI sells them, so might the other suppliers. Replacement is very easy.

When my brake light switch went out intermittent flashers was one of the clues to it going out that I didn't realize or know about.
