Rear Door Latch

Post by Kirby »

Recently I had my rear door latch stop working, I took it apart and could not fiquire out what is wrong with it. I did not have my manual with me, so I took the parts with me. This week I plan on looking at the detailed picture in hopes I can spot the problem. It would not latch when closed.

Any advice? :? Would I have to buy a whole new latch or are the tiny parts inside the whole assembly available?

By the way a bungee cord works great to hold it shut! :x

Should not make a difference, but this is on a 712M and is a single door that swings Right to left... and yes the tire hangs on the door! I suspect that could have created extra stress on the assembly?

Fiddle with the outer release lever. If it is all the way down, it won't allow the door to latch. If you reposition that lever, it usually works.
Trial and error the outside latch until it catches.
