Pinz grease gun

Post by andy »

Has anyone here used the original equipment grease gun on your Pinz? If so, where did you get the grease from or how did you get it into the gun? I've bought the small tubes, but they won't fit.

I actually want it more for my trailer than the 710 right now, but would like to make it work for the trailer and the Pinzgauers.

Thanks.

While on the subject of grease (Grease is the word?) what is the recommended time or mileage interval to do so on a 710?

Yes I use the gun. I fill it with normal Li grease from 1L? tins. It unscrews at the top or bottom to allow you to fill it. Interval for greasing the shaft and tow pintle is 5000km I think. I am away from home and so can't check.

Bryn, thank you. I have buckets of grease I use on bump gates and I was pretty sure I could pack it in there, but the insides of this particular gun are so clean it doesn't appear to have been used. That is what made me think they had been using cartridges if anything. Thank you again.

Maybe I've been using it wrong? It never occurred to me that there was any other way.

Whilst on the subject, my gun seems to have an attachment which I have not worked out - some kind of cable oiler maybe? Does anyone know what it is?

This is what I'm talking about. What is it and what does it do? I think it is an attachment for the grease gun.

Stab in the dark time............. is that dooferiser/converter thingy used to engage on the plastic oiling points on the cables ? Using oil rather than grease in the gun.

Any advance on the above...................?
