The old BBS, Flashback...( entertaining bedtime reading) :)

Post by David Dunn »

I knew some of this was out there in cyberland, and with a little digging, found a link that has a lot of the posting for the old BBS ! :D
A chance to see nothing has changed..same questions, pretty much same answers, and some of the same old names you see post here

It goes back to June 0f 2000, up to February of '03

Dave, I remember reading post from Thomas, and Theo on all the mods they were working on. Just the 2.7 and the td trans are covered. None of its in the forum you posted did that come later? Some what remember them saying they could make the piz handle like a porsche. And Thomas was bragging about Theo being the guy who was the first to put the td trans in an 710. Not trying to bring any bad things up, just trying to figure out when I started reading post.

Erick, Go to this link. Mozo 1 had both those items before Theo had even bought his first Pinz. ( he was going to look at my 710, before his association with SCP)

Unfortunately, I don't seem to remember a Thomas ( with SCP?)

I miss that old board. Lost a lot of posts when it crashed or was attacked, not sure which now.
If you didn't get stuck, you didn't try hard enough.

The BBS was the predecessor to this forum. As you can read, the BBS crashed in 2000, with all earlier data lost. The BBS then crashed in late 2003, at least twice(iirc). Then this forum replaced it in early '04 ( with it's hacks and crashes).
In 2003, the Pinz readings, were the Pinzgauer Yahoo group, SWPA Yahoo Group and the BBS. The Yahoo Calpinz club came mid '03

I remember that post by Erik. By that time, I had "evolved" above the gasser Pinz zen

Russ
The bigger lost is all the posts lost from the first crash of this forum. Though a lot of Pinzers don't know what they're missing. Peter, Lucky Strike and I had a posted a bunch of pdf's,and pics of Turbo Diesel nature. There was a big push to put "organized" 710/12 info back then too.

From the response to the poll, I think I may have needed a 4th choice.. " What is the BBS?"
