No, but he did say his father did abduct your parents on that last trip.... and was surprised there was a child from that gene pool.

So the wind stopped

Post by ABSOLUTSECURITY »

So the wind stopped just hours after it tore down my tent, broke the tent poles and covered everything my son and I brought with a 1/4 inch of sand and we left for home thru a rain storm??????????

Next year the back of the 712 AMB-S will be complete and we will be able to stay in side if the weather turns for bad!!

All in all it was a great trip with great friends! Really hard core offroading with the flash flood washed out sections - I have to align my front end!!!

Cant wait untill next year!
:D

Sorry Glynn
The wind stopped around dinnertime, and we "circled" MogCentral with a pair of motorhomes and a expedition camper for a windbreak.... Though it was in the forcast earlier for a chance for rain, we never saw a drop :( , and I wanted to swim Garfield  ...... Sunday was as nice as Friday.

glynn - all you need are 2 "fantastic vent" roof vents in the roof of that thing and a floor across the middle and some thermarests.

Well that stinks - everyone said the wind wasn't going to stop - our new tent was in the trashcan across from our site and even if I figured out how to stay , everything that was in the tent (everything accept my thermal imagers, nightvision, Maxabeam flashlight, and other stuff that I couldn't leave at the site in a tent while trail blazing) was covered in sand and even after shaking it off I could feel sand. Wouldn't have made a good night for my seven year old son! Next time will be better next year - the people are ALLWAYS the best and so is the food.

2009 I plan on getting the AMB campered out & self contained - AC/HEAT - full electric and space to sleep so a tent will be an OPTION ! LoL!

I'm really looking forward to a few more pics of this event. I would love to do some trail riding out there but it is quite a haul for me. Some day...

Already under way Buck!

I figured I would use that xantrex prosine 3.0 24volt 30 amp nom 50amp peak 110 volt AC inverter I got from you to use - so I have a Carrier low profile (7.5 inch tall) 13.5K BTU AC/heat going on top -4 Altman Electric remote control camper jacks (to lift and drop the box at camp site)- two dual pane thermal insulated 29 x 39 black windows (one on each side)(to give the boys a view and provide fresh air) and two Recaro SE seats(so my two boys can ride in comfort) all in stock in my back office workshop and ready to go in the back!!!

I have a movie and some 65 pics I can send you from the 2008 mogfest - just have to figure out how to send that much stuff - maybe I shoukd just burn a dvd and send it???

If anyone got pics of Garfield on the trail Friday, I'd appreciate it if you would email them to me. :D ..... though many thing I have split personality  , I haven't yet been able to be in two places at once to drive and get pics :?

And there are many pics from Calico here:

Dave, Bill has lived a fulfilling life. And is gifted with the camera, some great photo's. He also took a nice picture of your cat and Jim's hefy. Have to say there could be a couple of bucket list photo's in there.

He has a nice web-site, some really nice pics. After reading some of the issues he's had with that Mog, it makes my little hub seal ordeal seem like a piece of cake.
