The seller obviously didn't know that much about TDs, as he has some.... ah, untruths. After reading the listing several more times, I wonder if he knows anything about it, or winged it because most people know even less. The vacuum power for the brakes and lockers comes from a mechanical pump off the engine. There is an electrical compressor for the air ride system, and I doubt that it ever worked. The only time mine ever came on was when I had 12 large 12v AGM batteries in the back, and that was for only a few seconds. The Swedish Pinzes also had modified springs to make up for all the weight they carried. Originally, the Pinz on ebay also besides having a Sepson hydraulic winch ( winch and mount about 330 lbs), had a "small" Hiab crane on the left rear panel. If you look at the pics of the ebay Pinz and The Pink Cow, you will notice how much clearance there is in the rear wheel wells, this is not normal, with stock springs 716s will ride level because the airsprings will automatically inflate or deflate, per the sensor on the right rear axle. A sitting 716 rear axle will have a negative camber when left overnight , as the air will bleed out, but will pump right back up when the ignition is turned on.

Hi Jim, love that logo of yours in your photo bucket MVC-811S

I was in Montery a couple of years ago during a Laguna Seca motorcycle race and this truck was driving up and down the street where everyone was cruising. It looked and sounded cool. Later it was parked and we got to check it out. It seemed pretty nice but paint can hide alot of sins. It did have a California plate at that time

Here's what the seller responded with when I told him that the real4x4.com Pinzgauer forum members had "concerns" about the legitimacy of this truck for on road applications.
"Truck is legal,if there is a problem then Ill have to contact the dealer
that sold me the truck,I have tons of money in it.I have California plates
and insurance.Thanks for your email.Stephen

For the kind of dough he's asking for the 716, that response is a little vague and non-committal.

Gee, he's damaged the body and the "buy it now" grew $6000 to $70k from last time.
If someone wants to give me $50k, I'd let the Pink Cow go. I might be crazy , mean and abrasive... but not stupid! (depending on who you ask)

Arrny's 716K was older than that. Actually one of the earliest ones, a part of a pair that were imported to federalized. ( one each of a autobox and manual "gearbox"). I don't remember what it sold for, but it went to Japan, and the other to the UK back in the 90's.
I seem to remember having pics of it when it was on a car lot for sale in Beverly Hills (?). Probably lost on one of my old computers that had crash.

That one is a pic of a P80, RHD ( indicated by the sweep of the wipers).
I could make a comment , but won't.
By '87, there were a few hundred TDs made.
Arny's 716 had lots of "add-on" skirting and sported the rectanglar headlamps that were common in the US in the late '70s/ early '80s.....

Good old EBAY
If you check further on Ebay in the Pinzgauer listings there is the way to solve the problem of not being able to get a TD in to America.
There is a listing for New Vin plates from Great Brittan. There are 5 plates and all 5 are being bid on. I wonder if I stamped the plate with the vin for a 1990 Chevy truck would It work?
Kinda wonder on who is buying the vin plates
