Pinz, Haf Mog Gathering in So Cal, Feb 8, 2009

Post by David Dunn »

FYI, the date for the Gathering will be Feb 8th, 2009 ( 2nd Sunday in Feb)
Same place at the The AmVet at 14910 Los Angeles St, Irwindale,CA, Feb 8th from 8ish to 3:00 PM . This is the typical meeting day for the SCMVCC. The last Gathering was was received very well by the club ( and I hope all that attended),

Here's mapquest to the location:
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/14910+Los+ ... indale+ca/

To get a tenative head count, and/or if you have any questions, email me at: dsd277@sbcglobal.net , and use "Gathering " in the subject line.

As in the past, you can bring parts for trade and sale.
For those that like "grownup" drinks, the AmVet bar opens at 1

As an added bonus, the curator of the MV museum in South El Monte ( aka Tankland) has extended the offer of free admission that day to anyone that drives their Euro MV the Gathering that day.

Jim wants YOU to attend. :D

Around 110 miles. Good 2+ hour drive. I know, it's a lot closer than traveling around the world, but it makes for a 5 hour round trip.

Now that I got my old 712 back, I have a truck I trust to make it.

I'm glad to see all our San Diego Pinzers are returning. Even though the last Gathering was the largest ( to date), there was not a single San Diego Pinz there ( and they had always made the strongest showing).
Hopefully, the bad economy won't dampen the attendence like the gas prices did the last.

Mike, you may think to bring the factory reworked 710K, as Eric should bring his Volvo.

Remember this is swap meet too, so bring those unneeded parts you want to sell or trade.
As a sidenote, I still have DOT tinted and clear door glass for the M's and Ks... and maybe a tinted windshield or two :? . Please arrange with me before the meet if anyone needs any, as I won't be bringing any to the meet. I know noone wants me to give up valueable food and drink space in the Pink Cow and trailer . I also have a M762 trailer for sale too. ( flatbed version of a M416)

Also allow time after the Gathering to go see the MV Museum ( 7 miles from the AmVet), you get free admission when you take your European MV, that day.

Sorry for any lack of attentiveness to this tread, but I've been dealing with an onslaught of TD questions ( whoever told anyone I knew anything? ), and many already know what to expect :D

I was looking forward to going, unfortunately won't be around. I will be in Colorado. I would have loved to be one of the San Diego Pinzies. Maybe next year.

It's a heck of a drive for us "San Diego" guys, it's over 110 miles or for us 712 guys, around 6 hours round trip! Either way, I'm going to be there this year. Anyone else bringing their kids?

Greetings all,
I just got a call from the club's Activities Coordinator, to inform me of a couple of changes .

First, The Marine League will be serving breakfast for the club meeting, (7AM to 11AM) . There is a donation fee for this. ( Not sure of the amount, but probably around $4 to $5)

Second, The AmVet bar will be open in the morning. ( For those that like to drink their breakfast) :D I ask that those who want to drink, keep them in the bar or patio area.

The BBQ will start somewhere after 11:30 ( not that the drinkers will be able to tell time  )
