Post by audiocontr »

Long story short, i was incentivised with $5000 to the Pinz in the near future. We'll see if it actually ever comes through.

My dilema is what to do with that money. I recently found my compression to be somewhere between 120 and 125 per cyl. I also have some carbs that could use a rebuild and possibly a worn distributor.

My first thought was the new cyl and higher compression pistons (~$2000), Carbs rebuilt by Jim (~$700) and some distributor solution (~$?). With all the unknowns, the $5k should cover it.

However, seeing that I'll have somewhere around $1500 into ignition and carbs, would i be happier with Jim's EFI system? Could i do the cyl rebuild and Jim's EFI for $5k total?

You will be happier with EFI. But it's going to cost more than five thousand for both.

Do the top end with a cam and fix the carbs. You will have money left over for other improvements/paint.

EFI is $3600-$3800 for a complete batch fire kit. (EMS stinger4 ECU).
