Trailer Plug Again!

Post by Erik712m »

I never really paid any attention to the Trailer Plug post. As i never thought I'd tow a trailer behind the pinz. Well it looks like I will to night.

What are the chances I find a local source?

Dave D. Any Thoughts?

trailer plug

Good luck, I got mine from SAV. The one from the trailer (male) and the one at the back for the jeep (female). Still have to hook-up the jeep.
You might get a four prong from Napa and splice into the pinz plug at the back if your trailer works that way.

Erik, You're leaving big differences in this message and what you PM'ed me.

The Pinzes DO NOT have NATO sockets, rather the European civilian12N sockets. IF you are connecting to the Pinz directly, and the trailer has the "flat 4" connector, go to a Range Rover dealership and pickup a pigtail setup for a Range Rover, and you're finish.
IF the trailer has a NATO 12 pin connector on it, it depends on if you're pulling this only one time, or it will be a continuous growth on your a$$.
Because of my "insane" number of vehicles and trailers, I've made adapters for 7 pin , 4 flat and 5 flat and NATO connectors to any of the others. One trailer has an additional wire harnass I added, as it will see duty being pulled by all my tow vehicles( it has a NATO and flat 4).
Tell me what you are trying to do... ( correctly spelled engish, and the right word   )

Dave, You just answered my Question. !2n Plug thanks.

I'm going from the Pinzgauer 12n plug to a four flat. I really don't plan on doing this again.

Dave Thanks Again

That's wrong. The Swiss Pinz uses only 4 wires ( Brake and turn signals are combined). Europe does not combine lamps!
The Pink Cow uses that, as do the Austrian Pinzes.
