Maloya Tyres
Well never thought I'd see the day I was putting new Maloyas on!
Just got a set of 4 Maloya winter tyres for my car (not Pinz)! They are actually quiet good

We're running a set of 750/16 XZL's on a 710M They are working very well, still need a little care on wet roads but, a big improvement, Btw Steve, are you joining Chris on Salisbury plain this weekend ? If you so we'll need to see some pics.

I've been running the 8.25 - 16 XZLs on the Pink Cow for 6 years or so. Though it's the size the MoD uses, I feel they're a bit too tall for the P80's power and gearing.

The ex MOD P93 I'm rebuilding has 825/16 XZL's, but I havn't had chance to drive it yet, the extra power may help. allthough I'm thinking of changing them for 285/75/16 BFG mud terrains, these were factory fit on the last pinzgauers.

My P80 came with 255/85's ( same rolling diameter as 285/75), I notice the lack of rpms in 5th gear.... the engine lacked the power to drive the tires in 5th, the same as before. If I ever need a new set, I think I'll go back to the 255's.
I imagine your P93 has the wider rims for the 285/75 ?
A little insight to trailing your TD.... don't cut tight turns the same as a 710... the extra 8" of WB will drag the rear over or into things that a 710 will go around.

I have a spare set of wider rims for the BFG's, I might keep the XZL's just for off roading, the narrower tyres might be better on some terrain. But I've got to get the thing running first.

Just to add to this discussion, see the vids of the Salisbury Plain Day, and see the difference in the tyres fitted (You,ll find a link to our flikr and the pics will be up withing a couple of days. I had the smallest tyres at 7.50x16 Goodyear G90. There was not one instance when I grounded or dragged on any of the muddy tracks in deep-ish ruts, and I think I,m right in saying that the two older Pinzgauers (middle truck and mine) hardly even bothered to engage diff locks and only then on the Steep Hills where it would be dangerous, indeed most of the time I was in 2 wheel drive! What a vehicle???? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vn_rSIKuvS8
