My answer: It's like ammo, you can never have enough.

female answer: Why do you need it, you can only drive one at a time.

If you buy this one, that leaves only one trailer that needs a tow vehicle.

Is that a decent price? It looks to be in good shape.

Yeah, but ammo doesn't require maintenance...and take a whole lot less space

Unlike the TDI in VW cars, the Supacat can easily double up trailers (or more) :D ... Something I hope to do for the next parade  .... The flip it followed by the kitchen trailer (if it's ready).

For the year, it's a good price. By the time someone imported it into the US, you'd have over $21 k into it.

I'm surprised it doesn't have a winch. And in 25+ years, only 300 ATMP's have been made...about 180 since the beginning of 1997.

BTW, As side note, I just renewed the "registration" on one Cat for $23 ..... Good through December of 2015 :D :D

Cheers

I'm too lazy to research the old thread, but how fast will they travel and how much weight will they carry?

The idea of selling at least one of my Pinzgauers is floating around in the back of my mind. It's doubtful, but I've considered it.

I found a nice 718 on the internet too which would suit my needs (wants :D ) rather nicely.

Cheers to you too.

Top speed around 40mph, though comfortable at 30 to 35
On land payload, 2600 lbs. Water, 900lbs
The GVW of the flip it trailer is 4100lb, payload of 3086
I don't remember the cap of the tub trailer

2600 lbs = 52 fifty pound bags of feed. That's 12 more bags than my 710 will haul and only 8 bags short of what the 712 will do.

Speed wouldn't be a major factor on the farm road I use most of the time and it for sure isn't a factor on the ranch roads.

The amphibious capability opens up some close to the bank fishing opportunities also. It would at least get me to the other side of the trees sticking out of the water.

48 bags.... unless you were planning to drive it walking along side.  plus I'd love to see how you load 48 bags onto a deck that's 74" wide by 58" long  :P

Mine still have the Canadian ROPS that could always be made into a 2nd deck. .... or an elevated shooting platform that Texans are so fond of.

I've tried 2x to answer the pm and both times it just came back to me.

The shooting platform is for out of state hunters. Most of us don't use it cuz it gets real cold up there. Some folks use them and it results in a lot of crippled deer. I had one and as soon as I quit guiding I sold it. Don't have much use for them.

The speed capabilities of a Supacat would not be much of an issue on the farm road I use the most and definitely not an issue on the ranches. The key would be if it can climb like a Pinzgauer with a full load on.

My Pinzgauers are high maintenance as far as I'm concerned. Simply because they get driven so much, it seems like I'm always changing the oil in one or the other and then the next thing ya know it's time to do the plugs. Gads, I hate the #3 plugs, I just don't bend like that anymore.

Vince must be peeved with me

Well... at least there are no spark plugs in the Cats, and there is a oil sump pump for changing oil... bending??... everything requires bending to get to it inside a cat....I like to use cushions on the fenders to work on it.... real easy to take a nap too... just roll up a cushion for a pillow and go to sleep... just don't roll over! You'll end up on the ground, or inside the hull ( pray for the ground.... it's hell to get out of the hull! )

I've never had a load on a cat, but the rollover angle is a lot greater on a cat, and no fuel starvation on an sharp incline with a diesel.
The most I've ever done with it was pull a trailer with 250 gallons of water (2900lbs gross) up to the foothills at 35mph... ( only planned on 25, but the speed snuck up on me on the hill... it was so smooth and easy, never realized the speed) :D
