Carb rebuild questions

Post by og »

I have two bases with wiggly shafts I'd like to rebuild. I am torn between using 8.3mm oversized shafts with no
bushings and using std. 8mm shafts with bushings. What would people with more experience recommend in this case?
My second question is related to the accelerator pump shaft. There is a wiggle there as well. Can carb covers be re-bushed
to make that go away too?

Thirdly, I noticed that floats are split (independent) in NDIX36. The replacement floats I got from EI are non-split, i.e. they both move together.
I do not understand what was the original reason of using split floats, as the pressure exerted onto the valve would always be determined by the bowl which has
more gas in it. Am I missing something here? I must be?!

Thank you

The carb will run also with non splitted floats. But when going up or down steep gradients in offroad the engine will run longer with splitted floats. For example, the original Haflinger carbs 32 NDIX don't have the splitted floats - after you changed them into splitted from the Pinz, the Haflinger will go better in Offroad an fast driven turns on road.
