Possible to have too large of a converter?

Post by Mac »

I'm looking at converters to buy and I've come across a nice surplus (new) model for a pretty good price-----> but it is 35amps (30 continuous). Is that too big? Does it matter how big it is? I see most people talking about 16amp and 20 amp- is the only issue with bigger the $, or is there something else i need to be taking into consideration?

At the moment the only thing hooked up will be a large instant-air compressor for a horn, and soon speakers\etc.

The only thing to worry about are inefficiencies, larger converters will take more power for doing less. If that doesn't bother you then you should be fine.
