First Parade in the Pinz!

Post by Mac »

I'm not new to parades- But this was my first in my Pinz! I've gone to some big ones at the state capital and took my Dodge M37, but I've go to say- nothing beats a little old country town parade full of tractors, horses, classic cars, firetrucks, and whatever the local Sheriff could drag out.

I managed to find 2 ladies that planned to walk it (95 degree day and 2 miles?) with a "Fainting Goat". I pulled out the step stool and threw that goat in the back. I'm not sure which got more attention- the goat...or the truck. Image

As I pulled up to the middle of the parade, they stop each vehicle (largest area of people) and have a PA setup, you hand your slip with your info to him and he explains you to the crowd. Most were brief "1972 Chevy Nova", etc. Here is what I got: "1974 Pinzgauer, a Swiss military machine with a Fainting goat in the back! ...A swiss truck with a fainting goat...I'm not going to touch that one with a 10 foot pole."

Few shots of the local sheriff...

Apparently our Sheriff's department is pretty serious.

The goat is a great add to any pinz.
I was in one of the local community parades today, sorry no pics, I was driving.
Had two little neighborhood girls in the back and their mom in the front. They had never been in a parade so they were very pleased.
They were able to say HI to their friends as we went by throwing candy...the girls, not me, I was the driver.
Great time.

You are so lucky in The Land of the Free.....in UK the equivalent of the Local Sherrif would have firstly advised you not to have a parade, then brought out a book of rules so thick that it would take you a month to read all the rules, then they would insist you have insurance to the tune of £1 million (just in case?) then they would turn up at the Parade and try to arrest all the drivers for various violations, most of which they would make up on the spot....sometimes I think it may have been better for UK had we gone in on the same side as Germany in WW2 at least they liked cars and guns and we might have kept our culture and have never started the insane immigration that has killed my culture. We used to like cars, now we don,t make any and 'they' are trying anyway they can to stop us driving what we still have.
