710K Slower :?: Same gearing, same motor, steel in place of canvas so a bit heaver however... Do you mean 710 VS 712? 712 lower gearing, much more weight, more parasitic drag, same motor.

Then throw in the higher speed transmission swap and everything changes!

For sure my 712 is slower than my 710. Weight differential is 5300 lbs VS 4500 lbs as I recall.

Reminds me of a funny story. This past weekend I attended the Hennessey Motorsport openhouse in Sealy, Texas. I've known John for a number of years and have admired the work he's done with Vipers and now his new Venom but I digress..

Hennessey has a drag strip next to their shop to test cars so some attendees were making timed runs during this open house event. When a buddy and I were sort of tooling around the property (in my 712) watching all of this action, one guy asked if we were interested in making a timed run down the track. My buddy quickly yelled back to him, "we sure are, do you have a calendar so we can see how fast we went?"

The 710 t case is 12% higher than the 712.( the t case of a 710 is .88 overdrive)
Then throw in the higher speed transmission swap and everything changes!
Yeah, mucks up the ratios totally

If you want a 712 and want the speed of a 710, and don't need the weight capacity all the time, swap T cases

I've had all 3,the K's only slower than an M,by the additional weight of the top and doors. Not enough to worry about, and besides no 2 Pinzies seem to run the same anyway!
