Black Pinz?

Has anyone seen (or have?..) a black Pinzgauer? Matte black in particular?

I've seen photos of the Red-Bull Pinz, but that isn't quite the same.

I'm in the middle of painting my rims black as I've seen others do here in photos. Really makes it look good I think- Had me wondering about the whole truck.

I have painted the bottom (below the rail) gloss black. Easier to wash mud off..... Totally black?...gets hot enough in the sun with the OD.
Had a UniMog that was painted sand color, did not get hot in the desert but, you are in NC so might not be an issue for you.

Tony had his pinz a matte black for a short bit. I will see if he can get a picture or two of it up. Must have not liked it as he did not leave it that way long.

Thats my photo of the SWPA gathering at margaret t hance park in Phoenix for the 4th of July some years ago. That is Tony's black pinz. I remember the paint being a little more flat than in the picture. I knew I had a picture around somewhere just could not find one.

Sometimes, before it is implemented, an idea should be researched. I bet you are glad you asked.
I have seen white ones, tan , blue, red and of course the ever popular OD...Some work better than others.

My 710K is a Satin black...was matt but looked too dull. Seems to work OK for me, but I was thinking to going to a dark battleship grey, or even a mid or light grey next year.

I know y'all are talking about paint but Andre Swanson told me about a trick when I tried when I had my 710 that worked like a champ so I'll pass it along.

WD-40.

WD-40 applied to the paint (OD green) really covered up the imperfections and irregularities and really improved the appearance of the paint. You won't be ready for Pebble Beach but, before you opt for a new paint job, try the WD-40 route to see if it freshens up the quality of the paint that you already have.

Was told by a couple of vacationing Swiss guys that in there active military days that after maneuvers prior to putting their Pinzgauers to bed they were required to wipe the exterior down with diesel soaked rags.

We did that all of the time when I was a roughneck offshore years ago. We would wipe down all sorts of equipment to shine it up and we got great results too!

Ha ha another old trick from WW2, Staff Car drivers could not get car polish, so they would wipe down the vehicle with a rag soaked in parraffin, only works for a couple of hours, but the results are amazing.
