Hopefully the engine isn't wrecked. I know all the plastic bits will have melted/burnt but you might be able to salvage it.

What has the insurance company said?
haha!

the engine IS wrecked :( spoke to nigel yesterday, but dont worry, he also seems to think it will all polish out :)

insurance dont really want to know, but since when is that a suprise? looks like nigel has most of the things we need, and i am hoping to put a few days aside to go and help.

BACK to Nigel: i am inclined to agree about the electrical fault theory. the initial smell of the fire was a burning rubber aroma and not a fuel smell.

on a lighter note!!

my daughter informed me that her science teacher is using pictures of mabel on fire to teach a lesson!! i am going to contact him this week to see if i can get my hands on some to post here :)

cheers

Bung a V8 in there and piss us all off!!

Seriously, I wonder if you could shoehorn a BMW straight-6 in there... that would be awesome

Actually I know of two conversions that use a BMW straight six floating around somewhere in Europe. One 712M is in Austria.
Or should I say was in Austria as it was parted out after a short life.
I don't know the reason why though.

And there is another heavily modified 712K in italy that pops up
every now and then. The owner wants to sell it for 160k Euro...

I am curious what happened to the Paris-dakar Pinzgauers and
what modifications were done to them.
One thing for sure is that at least two used watercooled engines.

I noticed. Sorry I didn't mention yours.
You do great work there.

Inline six FTW. I drive one too, a gas powered one though.

Good looking truck. I thought of the old joke about the zebra...but here... is it green with tan stripe or tan with green stripe.
