Power steering, automatic transmission, bigger engine. Wonder if it has disc brakes too?
If you thought the shot gun rider had little room now.......guess they make up for it in the rear.

Need a translation asap. That passenger seat is VERY narrow though the truck looks fantastic. Very curious on the drive train.

Re: Russian modified 712 amb
OK Summary translation.... 1st part of video talks about history of Pinzgauer, theirs is ex Swiss Army, and mentions suspension and design of accelerator pedal. Then their modification to Diesel engine mated to Toyota auto box + power steering, engine bay reworked to accommodate new engine, rewired and ambulance box modified. Praises the ride quality of the suspension and build quality of vehicle with its 45 degree lean capability but expensive parts... not many 30+ year old vehicles would be able to compete with modern vehicles but Pinzgauer does.

Re: Russian modified 712 amb
I didn,t recognise the engine either, but bear in mind that Russia like Poland get a lot of models that we just don,t see in UK, it may be one of the models only sold into LHD countries....I am surprised at it being a Toyota, here in Poland the engine of choice for modifiers is usually Mercedes and I would have thought that Russian thinking would be the same. (probably easier parts supply as well, particularly if it is one of the rarer toyota enignes, though if you get a good one it is probably fit and forget). I,m more interested in the cooling system side.....now I know that in Russia it gets a bit cold, but there are parts, that are like this particular piece of Poland and can have very long, much hotter than UK summers. To anyone admiring a Diesel conversion in a hot country (NOTE: I never had any problems at all with mine in UK...lower ambient) Have a look at that little tunnel that you have got to push air through??? put as big an electric fan as you like on the back of your radiator.....all that hot air has got to go somewhere!!!! that tunnel is too small to pass that volume of air without assistance.....I have finally (I think) solved my overheating problems.......I have mounted a 24 volt fan in the tunnel at the engine end and it seems to be pulling the air away fast enough so the rad can do it,s job.......summer cometh...we shall see. Oh.... and why they were ecstatic over build quality.....well you have to have dealt with Russian vehicles to know why.......build quality is usually crap and that is putting it mildly........dont get me wrong...they build some awesome machines..KAMAZ.....KRAZ....URAL......but they throw them together. (If some one said to me you can have one of these machines KAMAZ or a TATRA.....it would be time to sweat....close!!! or what.)
