Congrats on the new truck. I also have a 1969 BANTAM. It will be fun to park the trucks together and look at the differences between them. Mark your calendars for June 20-23 2013.
Unless you plan to tow it on secondary roads, do not flat tow a Haffy. The Swiss Hafs are design for mid 30 to 40mph ( US versions faster)... at hiway speeds, the portals will generate a lot more heat and are more likely to lose seals and oil... and by the time you realize it in the tow vehicle, you'll have done a lot more damage $wise than it would cost for a nice 5x10 trailer.
And if you argue that you don't have room for the trailer...put it where you park the Haffy and park the Haffy on it!
You have a real nice Haf, don't ruin it by spinning the drivetrain out from under it.
I've had 3 different Pinzes in the last 11 years, and I still have my Swiss Haf for over 10.

Thanks for the heads up David. I do plan on buying a 5x10 enclosed trailer for other reasons anyway, I will just move the buy date up to this month and use it for the hafy as well.
This is exactly this type of info that makes these groups so great, I have more then once had to learn the hard way...

Its the same thing with flat towing Pinzes... human nature is to forget what they're towing, so when something slows them down, they push a little more with the right foot ... only the smell of burning rubber and oils and smoke in the rearview mirror gets their attention... and that's after they flip someone off for laying on the horn

BTW, if you get a trailer from Texas, I might be able to break it in for you.... I need a pair of tires and rims, a bumper and a fuel tank for my flying dump truck.
