Ugly Unimog
Hard to see what the aim of this was. Looks like the wheel travel has been cut right down too. Mysterious.

Re: Ugly Unimog
looks like a lot of thought went into the build. I bet he got lots of good use out of it, knowing how mogs are.
would be real interested to know just exactly what it was built to do.

Translated the auction and got this description:
"The vehicle was Imported by us from Slovenia and had no identification papers or street legal. Selling purely as part carriers without defects. The Unimog works perfectly except for the service brake, this should be overhauled."
No mention of its intended use. Almost looks like a huge side-by-side for farm use.

Probably came from a rural farmer that doesn’t get into town much in the winter.
Could also have been a "the body’s so rusted out what can I do with it now?"
Amazing some of the winter projects that seemed like good ideas after a few shots.

It is only allowed to go 10 KM, by the sign on the rear. Sure did cut out a lot of useless weight from body parts.
I have seen rock crawlers with about that amount of protection.

It's a shame. Bodies for 411s can still be found if you look for them. The 411 is actually a beautiful vehicle, green with red wheels.

These Mini Mogs aren't much bigger than a Haffy,
And like what some farmers do, resurreted it from a rust pile probably to live again
To most people here, they're a neat vehicle... to a farmer, it's just a tool

I traveled a long way to trade a guy for one not knowing what I was in store for. It was a diesel ( the guy wasnt sure
) and hacked. No front suspension ( blocked for snow plow), and it did , like, three. No lie, my son walked , briskly, beside me when I had it up to max rpm as I dared. Loaded up my bj40 and went home.

Re: Ugly Unimog
I think I know what it is, you could probably put a bet on it that this vehicle was created for a hill farm and small wheels and a low centre of gravity, but with good traction are more important than wheel travel or even height under the axles.....it would have been used for bringing in firewood from very hilly, heavily wooded country. In the hilly parts of Poland they build very similar Frankenstein creations for the same purpose, they often farm fields with them that a big tractor would not even look at for fear of falling on its roof.
