Is "North American Pinzgauers" familiar to anyone?

That's Bob Rainek out of Milwaukee. He's been selling Pinzgauers for a while but I don't know much about his business.

I was just curious if it was still actually around or not. I just don't appreciate the stealing of someone's images for their own business gains. I guess I'll try that email and let him know about it.

To show how ridiculous this kind of thing gets, one of his photos is even labeled "Socalpinzgauers.com" ...and they stole that pic from me to begin with, which I took in Italy back on 2001 at the Pinz treffen.

I dealt with him before contacting Scott. Our correspondence was brief, but he did reply to his email. If you need his number let me know.

For what it's worth, none of the Pinzgauers on his website are for sale. It hasn't be updated in a long time.

Thanks. I might sound trivial to some people but copyright is just as important as any other form of ownership. People pirate movies and somehow deny it's different than walking into Walmart and stealing off the shelf. Making a coffee table, a TV or jug of milk to sell is no different than making entertainment out of nothing. Just like anything else, films employ an endless line of people from carpenters to truck drivers, to camera techs and secretaries, none of which own the company or get paid big bucks to be it's spokesman/actor.

Stealing photos on the smallest of scales from a hobby site to try to make your business seem more than it is isn't much different to me. Of course a half dozen other 4x4 "businesses" have done the same as this one. I'm just tired of it.

FWIW, I think it's been going on for a while. I believe he used to have a pic of the zebra striped 712K (which I understood belonged to Patrick Robb) prominently displayed. From an ethical standpoint, it's pretty lame.

I don't know if it's a real business or not. I first met him in '02 as he was buying his first truck from CWR. I don't know of anyone who has bought a truck from him.
