Scott owns Expedition Imports...major sponsor. I bought my 710 from him years ago.

You might want to look into your local DMV process to get an imported foreign vehicle registered and titled stateside.

That process alone would convince me to buy one stateside. I think you have to take this all into account and you will see there are some deals to be had stateside, especially if you are mechanically inclined. Hell, there's a unimog on ebay for less than 10k, I think that's a deal.

But, that said, I agree with the previous advise. Buy the best model you can afford, parts on these trucks are not cheap and repairs, while do-able can get complex with the weight of some of the pieces. Don't forget, you're going to have to re-shoe that truck, figure on about 1k for that...

I bought from Scott and he had it registered in CA before my purchase so that made it a simple transfer and every state after that was a breeze.
That Mog on Ebay looks great and knowing what I do of them, it would be a good deal for a very powerful vehicle. Sold my 404 when I got the pinz.

An Austrian 712M that was on the Dorotheum Auction site went for $19000 USD. Currently there is a very nice 712M on ebay with 3 days to go. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221897129113?fo ... &viewitem=.

It is also listed in the Classifieds forum: http://real4x4forums.com/PinzgauerBBS/v ... f=5&t=9956

This truck is registered in Virginia and could be driven to your home in PA.

If you purchased a truck via a European auction, the transportation and import duty fees would quickly negate any deals.

Folks

I have been to the Oldtimer fair in Salzburg und have attended the Pinzgauer auction.

Here they are waiting for their new owners.

I have thoroughly inspected Pinzgauer 404

Pinzgauer with Oldtimer certificate have been converted to 50mm ball hitch;the Nato hook is gone
Image

tarred, but not feathered underneath to cover the corrosion

§57a certificate ( Austrian technical inspection).

My Pinz has got a decoration sign from the fair
