Another source of noise

Post by rollingpinz »

Lately, I’ve been driving with the seats folded because it baffles a lot of the gear noise, but there’s been a rattling that starts just before 3,000 rpm. I had my son sit back there and he noticed the diamond plates had a couple of rivets missing. I replaced them and it is so much better. I noticed that some of the original rivets had become a bit loose so there’s a small amount of the rattle remaining. Maybe I’ll be motivated to replace those.

That's the funniest subject line I've read all day. A Pinz is a lot of things, but stealth is not its forte.

I gave some injured veterans a ride home from the VA car show a number of years ago. They all thought that there was no lubrication in the transmission because it was so noisy. I'm not sure they believed me when I told them I had literally just changed all the fluids about 3 months prior. There's just no noise insulation at all.
