Hi
My pinz has had an electrical gremlin since i started the rebuild. Ive done most of the drive train and carbs etc.
When the pinz 712 is running the horn keeps coming on and the wipers are on.
I tried pulling the fuse but I realised its the same circuit as the carb idle solenoids are on....and i need them obviously.
I guess its a short somehwere, not being electrical any guidance or starting point woulld be useful. Ive just disconnected the wiper arms and horn for now.
Or has anyone else had a similar issue??
Regards
Mark
wiring short- horn, wipers....
Re: wiring short- horn, wipers....
Never liked the Carb Solenoids on that circuit.
Well, back to the horn thing. One common problem is the
potential for the Horn switch in the steering wheel to short
to the column. I had that problem a couple of times. I ended
up putting some shrink tubing on the center terminal.
There should be no dependence with the Wiper ON or OFF.
If there is someone might have been in there doing some
creative wiring.
The horn connects to that common power source breaker #10,
with the control terminal of the horn connecting directly to the
horn switch in the steering wheel through a Fast-on Male/female
connection at the base of the steering column and that's it !
