From what some are using for backup lamps, that pink wire would be nothing more than a fusible link.

Digital wires to me are nothing more than wires with a number on the insulation.... keep it simple, don't confuse the smoke genie

I also have ASLs, both amber and red. I did zero additional wiring, no change to stock flasher. Tail lights and brakes to the red, turns to the amber. I simply moved the wires from old light fixture to new. Going on two years with the hook-up with no troubles. Whilst braking with a turn signal on, the red on the signal side does dim a bit, flashing in unison, but I figure it just makes it more of an attention grabber. In the pic, the yellow spots are actually those handy stick-on red reflectors (PM-490).

wait - you're using the stock, electro-mechanical, pinz flasher?!

also, how did you mount them?

The front turn signals are stock incandescents, so I reckon there's still enough current draw for the stock flasher to function. For mounting, I fabbed a 2 inch deep box to set the lights in and used all the original mounting points to secure it after removing the stock lights and reflectors. No drilling, and a simple reverse-installation to get back to original if I ever sell it and the buyer prefers stock stuff.

thanks mike! i just got back from the local skycraft weirdspacestuff emporium with 4 black anodized boxes ($1 each) with the idea of doing approx what you just described. i need to cut a 3.82 dia hole in the box and epoxy the bare light into it.

I'll be happy to snap a few tomorrow. No need for epoxy...go to any napa or a truck light place and get some 4" light grommets...that way they are easier to repair and/or replace.

Has anyone every put side marker lights on? The truck seems so dark from the side view at night. I was looking at some LEDs that would work.

I have 2" ambers on the front sides and 2" reds on the rear sides, LED for both. The rears are simply tapped into the tail light system. For the fronts I pulled the parking light lead from headlamp housing, lengthened it a bit, and routed it to the side. Standard sized grommets hold all of them in place.

2012, I didn't forget about the pics, just didn't get to it today.

Here's some pics. Left side and right side rear. One shot showing where I mounted the LED marker lights up front. The stock turn signals are still intact up front, all the rest are LED.

yeah, i think i need some side markers, too. i guess i'll check with asl 1st, since i know they have voltage sensing/adjusting lights.

nice pic's. I was looking at a lolipop syle light for the front turn. I see a lot of semi's with them and you can really see them when changing lanes. It would just stick out a little bit so you could see it from the side some. I would then turn the stock front light into a front marker light and not a turn.
