Some of the pieces in the hub were okay, but I ended up buying a complete new assembly. So I guess I have a few gears and a gently used front axle for sale ;)

We ended up leaving the truck on the trail for a day while we took the front axle off another truck. Another club member, Paul, was very generous and lend me his front half axle so that I could make the swap on the trail. I drove it off the trail and all the way home from Moab to Denver. This was the only way to get the truck off the trail and I'm very grateful for Paul's generosity.

We haven't seen all that much drivetrain damage on the trails either. Aside from my breakages I remember one guy losing a tooth off a rear hub gear and that's about it.

I am changing out my broken axle this week so I should have a broken axle to be able to send to you to test. I would be interested to see the strength/lack of strength in the axles now that I have broken two.

I also had a first this spring...I have broken multiple rear shock mount bolts...now I have broken a front top shock mount bolt!! Good Times I guess...I havn't looked at it yet. I hot it is an easy extraction...I won't hold my breath though.

I actually broke the rear right outer hub casing and the wheel fell off, on quite a steep hill.
We deliberated how to recover it and actually settled on getting three blokes to stand on the front left bumper (rather precarious) and that lifted up the damaged axle, then we drove it up the hill.
Hey, Peter, did I hear that you had to help pull a landrover up the riverbank with the three wheeled Haffy?! Or what was the story? :)

I think the story must have got a little "embellished" Jim! :D
I have recovered LR's over the years with Haffy's and I did drive a 3 wheeled Haffy, but not both at the same time! :D

I did however drive the Haffy up a rather interesting hill on three wheels when I completely snapped the right rear hub casing and the wheel fell off ..... "Somewhere" I've got a pic of my three-wheeled Haffy! :D

Well, in anticipation of a 3-wheeled haffy, I have to share a picture of my 3-wheeled pinzy. Its kind of like a wounded soldier limping home while leaning on his comrade's shoulder.
