Soft Top installation

Hey fellas,
I recently received my new Tuff River top and I want to make sure I'm installing this correctly. Since I did not remove the old top I'm doing this for the first time, everything is pretty self explanatory but I'm confused as to why the cab side of the rear portion has all these hooks along the top. To me it seems like there is nothing to attach these hooks to, am I missing something here? I've attached a pic for reference.

There is a rubber bungee cord that extends from the bottom of each side piece (elephant ear) and up over the top to the bottom of the other side piece. Along the way the bungee cord passes thru some metal loops (4 per side) that are under the rear flap of cab cover and fastened in place by the screws holding the metal trim bars in place. The bungee cord is then stretched back to connect to the hooks along the front of the rear cover.
I have the same top and I'll try to get a photo later on.

It appears that you are missing the rubber cord that runs along the top of the roll-bar, under the front top and that laces down the elephant ears on the sides. If I recall correctly without going out to look at mine, it laces under the front top into the rear top, but then laces over the tops of the elephant ears into the rear top. There should also be metal D-rings along the top of the roll-bar which are held down by an aluminum bar which sandwiches over the soft top. You may be missing all of that hardware, but it should be easy to acquire or even fabricate new, as no part of it is unique or special.

Thanks fella's. I see what you are talking about, I knew I was missing the cord but didn't understand how there could be no reinforcement up there. Parts are ordered from SAV, hopefully I can have this finished by Friday for the weekend!

Quick side question - Paul, did you have TuffRiver make up that bimini top?

...or is it just the TuffRiver top with an extra zipper all along the roofline, that lets you remove the side and rear panels...?
by the way, congrats again on your dog containment nets. They're on the to-do list for when I'll have dogs again...

Yes, it was the first one that Ray made. It does a nice job of keeping the sun off the dogs or passengers but is also really easy to remove if I want.

Thanks on the containment nets. I made a change on them this past winter so that instead of attaching to the original side hooks they now connect to the e-trac behind the seats. Now when I install the full rear top I don't have to first remove the netting.

I found Ray liked to keep his design as is.
I started a thread here a long time back asking all the TR owners what they would change.
My top has none of the suggested changes

Ray said zippers would never hold up (to make the sides removable), which I would have no clue about so I took Ray's advice and left the top as he designed it.
OK - I have derailed this thread enough

That is one beautiful top. Looks so fluffy like a down comforter.I got to get one. How long was the wait from order to delivery? Did it not come with all the rubber cords? Mine are kinda weathered.

It came missing one rubber cord/rope. I ordered it in October and it arrive in late March. It is certainly a huge improvement over what I had, which was a crispy original top with broken windows...
