Throttle sticking

Just last night, my throttle started sticking. When I take my foot of the gas, the pedal doesn’t come all the way back up. I tried blipping the had throttle to no avail.
I put a drop of oil on all of the rod ends and sprayed some oil on the pivot that the hand throttle pulls on( I removed the e-clip and pulled one of the bushings out first). It didn’t completely solve the problem.
Now when I take my foot off the gas, it comes up more such that the engine idles a 2,000 and the hand throttle blip brings the idle back down to 600ish.
I sprayed brake cleaner around the carbs in case there was a vacuum leak, but I’m convinced it’s the throttle linkage.
Any ideas?
Has anyone ever had to replace the springs?
Everything else functions as normal

I'd first pop off the ball-joints that go from the linkage to the carbs. See if the hang-up still occurs. That way you can isolate it to the carbs versus the horizontal linkage to the pedal.

So I learned something new about the hand throttle. I used to think the only way it worked was pull the handle to desired throttle position and tighten it in place.
But while I was disassembling and chasing sticking points, I noticed the handle was about a half inch higher than normal and there were threads sticking out.
With some experimentation, I learned that from the lowest setting, the handle can be threaded/backed out and it will hold that position.
This seams much easier than holding the handle where I want it and tighten it.
Oh joy. Problem (not a problem) solved.
