Turn Signal Trouble Shooting

I just replaced the turn signal switch on the steering column because it would not return to center and I could get no flash on the right side. New switch clicks as it should but still no right side flash. Suggestions appreciated.

The Swiss turn signal switch is way more complicated than need be
They are a PITA to debug.
But...check your connections back to the Emergency switch, should be two wires.
A Black/Purple and a Black/Green. These lines provide the "blinking" power to the
turn switch. Could just be a loose or poor connection.
Failing that a multi-meter is your best friend.

Thanks, I will check that. FWIW, the truck is Austrian. But, a loose connection makes sense.

Oh! The Austrian turn signal switch is simpler.

Didn't know I had a copy of the Austrian version schematic, attached. It's simple !
On the Swiss version the front and rear turn signals are separated and essentially a dual circuit
for front and rear and two blink sources from the hazard switch.
The Austrian is one circuit for left and one circuit for right with a common blink source. So if you
are not blinking on the right side but are blinking on the left that isolates your problem down.
Either a bad connection to the right terminal on the directional switch or all your bulbs on the
bad side are dead or a corroded connections.
The stock blinker needs a load on it to blink e.g. the filaments of the light bulbs.

I have a Swiss and had the same issue. The right turn wire coming out of the turn signal switch plugs into a 3-way junction and one of the wires slipped off because it was loose. (Large hands and tiny work space) You may have to trace the connections back a little further.
Best of luck.
