I have a civilian distributor and pertronix set up. Question is Do I disconnect the vacuum advance on the distributor to adjust the timing or leave it alone?
Also the truck seems to run a bit better with almost 10 degrees of advance, is this too much?

Ther eis no vacuum advance, that line removes moisture from the distributor.

Jim you have no idea how helpful that was!!
I have had terrible problems with condensation in the cap. I've had to all but rebuild the distributor due to rust in it. I bet that line is plugged somewhere. Just in time for a weekend project!!

In the rubber 90 degree elbow of that line there will be a brass jet...more than likely it is clogged. Do NOT completely remove it.

Thanks,
It is, and I was wondering what it was. Luckily I haven't totally torn it apart trying to get it out.
Any advice on ho to clean it out?
